Somerset Business Guardians

Somerset Business Guardians logo

“Giving through community foundations has become our preferred model of philanthropy. Since opening our doors here in Somerset in 2012, we have aspired to support Somerset Community Foundation. Over the years our parent company, Cornwall Glass & Glazing, has had a really positive relationship with the Devon and Cornwall Community Foundations.”

Paul Garrard, Director, M5 Glass

Somerset Business Guardians are local companies who are keen to tackle disadvantage in their community. In a rural county, small local charities are best at reaching those people who need a helping hand, often intervening early before more serious problems arise. Becoming a Somerset Guardian is the most effective way for your company to reach these hundreds of local, grassroots projects in our county.

Over 35 local businesses have responded to our call to become Somerset Guardians over the years. Some companies participate by donating in-kind gifts such printing and IT services. Others take part by sponsoring one of our annual events. A few go on to establish named funds within our endowment, the ultimate way your company can show long lasting support for the  community.
