Award-winning Tenebrae Choir to perform at Wells Cathedral in aid of SCF
We are delighted to announce that the world-class Tenebrae Choir will be performing a one-off concert at Wells Cathedral in aid of Somerset Community Foundation on Friday 15th April.
Described as “phenomenal” (The Times) and “devastatingly beautiful” (Gramophone Magazine), award-winning choir Tenebrae, under the direction of Nigel Short, is renowned for its passion and precision. You can find out more about the choir and listen to some of Tenebrae's work here.
This programme, 'A Hymn of Heavenly Beauty' features some of the most beautiful choral works ever written, ranging from the masters of the Renaissance through to modern day luminaries such as John Tavener, finishing with William Harris’ ‘Faire is the Heaven’, a setting of Edmund Spenser’s ‘Hymn of Heavenly Beauty’. .
