Over £60k of funding approved by Somerset Community Foundation committee following the latest grants round

Somerset Community Foundation are pleased to announce that over £60,000 of grants to community groups and charities were approved by the committee following the latest round of applications in June. Our grants team are still busy allocating funds and completing admin relating to some of the projects, but we are excited to be able to share with you the following selection of projects funded. Four fun, creative community events at Contains Art. Art gallery community courtyard aimed at disadvantaged groups and thereby tackling the lack of engagement and disadvantage experienced by these groups.

Kitchen refurbishments for a well-used community venue.  Bookings have been lost in the past as the kitchen has been not fit for purpose.  Many user groups are made up of elderly members, U3A, WI etc and the PCC also organise Harvest and Winter Suppers for villagers
